Timeline of Events

FRIDAY, June 24

 

7-8 p.m. – “Our Town: Granger”
This entertaining and educational production will be held in the Highland High School Auditorium (upper-level entrance).

8-9 p.m. – Birthday Cake Reception

Lobby outside of the HS auditorium.

ALL EVENTS ARE FREE!

SATURDAY, June 25

9-10:45 a.m. – Parade Forms
Parade forms in the back tennis court parking lot of Highland High School Stadium (4150 Ridge Rd.). Parade participants must pre-register. 

10-10:45 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies

Highland High School Stadium – Celebrate Granger "then and now" with music and recognition of winners in our competitions.

10:45 a.m. -12 p.m. – Parade

Travels around the perimeter of the upper parking lot of Highland High School. Spectators can stand around the outside and inside of the parking lot perimeter to view parade participants.  

The following activities will take place on the grounds of Highland Middle School:

  • 12-3 p.m.: Food Truck Lunch Available for Purchase; Historic Car Cruise-In

  • 12-1 p.m.: Roving Balloon Artist

  • 12-4 p.m.: Inflatable Obstacle Course for Kids

  • 1-2 p.m.: Magician Show

  • 2-3 p.m.: Barbershop Quartet; Roving Balloon Artist

  • 3-4 p.m.: Kids’ Games (Sack Race, Water Balloon Toss, 3-legged Race, Wheel Barrow Race, etc.)

  • 3-5 p.m.: Open House at Granger Historical Society (1261 Granger Rd.). See artifacts from Granger’s earlier years!

  • 4:30-6 p.m.: Wiffle Ball Game (directed by RAH). All ages welcome.

  • 5:30-9:30 p.m.: WIXY 1260 Broadcasts from the event. Enjoy ‘50s, ‘60s, & ‘70s favorites (bring a chair or blanket if you wish)

  • 6-8 p.m.: Pig Roast Dinner
    Tickets are now on sale! Join your friends and neighbors for a pig roast! Gridirne Cookery in Medina (www.gridirne.com) is preparing and serving up the mouthwatering dinner! Cost for dinner is $12 per person -- advanced ticket sales only. Tickets are first-come, first-serve! Get your tickets TODAY by calling Roberta at 330-239-2169.

  • 7-9 p.m.: Open House at Granger Historical Society (1261 Granger Rd.). See artifacts from Granger’s earlier years.

  • Approximately 9:45 p.m.: Fireworks (can be viewed from Highland Middle School parking lot, the hill or bleachers. Also from Township Administration Building parking lot).

SUNDAY, June 26

 

12-5 p.m. – Open House
Granger Historical Society (1261 Granger Rd.) -- Features guidance in researching the history of your own home or neighborhood, and see artifacts from Granger's early years!

  • 1 p.m.: Doc Loomis offers anecdotal talk on Granger churches

  • 2 p.m.: Hammered dulcimer

(RAINDATE) 9:45 p.m. – Fireworks
